17th Edition of European Film Cycle - Mozambique

04 May 2018

Welcome to another year of the European Film Cycle, this time in its 17th edition! As in 2017, the Cinema Cycle will begin in Maputo, and travel to Beira and Quelimane. This year's edition comes from the hand of the Spanish Embassy and counts on the invaluable collaboration of the Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center of Beira, to organize the Cycle in the city of Beira, and the French Embassy in Maputo, to make possible its realization in Quelimane. As in previous years, the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center is the place chosen in Maputo for the celebration of the Cycle.

The theme chosen this year is the "Cultural Heritage". In the cultural market of our day, which influences and determines our preferences and tastes, and sometimes ends up unifying the general patterns of consumption reaching music, fashion and even the movies, talk about "Cultural Heritage" through cinema allows us to counteract the homogenization that brings with it the industrialization of Culture.

This year, 11 films will be shown, from different perspectives, the diversity of cultural heritage in the peoples and countries of Europe. Once again, the Cycle will feature a parallel program aimed at all audiences, with films for the little ones and a short film competition to support the new talent. Several documentaries will complete the cultural agenda of this edition

But, let's not wait any longer ... Action!
